Chicago Great Lakes
Racing Season

The J30 Awesome, hull # 243, and was first raced out of Chicago under the name of "J Walker" probably owned by a skipper of the same name. She then was moved on her own trailer to Kentucky Lakes outside Calvert City, KY where in 1989 Vivian found her and moved her to Smithville Lake near Kansas City, MO. In 1991 Bill and Vivian moved her back home to Chicago and have her moored at DuSable Harbor.

Awesome will be docked in DuSable Harbor for the 2017 sailing season and will be racing in the MORF Performance and Competition series. Also the Sprint buoy,   and Wednesday Beer Can races.

"AWESOME"  is now rounding up a race crew for the 2017  season. Many crew positions are open and we will have practice days on the schedule.  People interested in crewing on Awesome in 2017 should send us an E-Mail. wmsmith@gulfandnorthern.com
