Delayed Yakima six minutes for mail, five minutes Ellensburg for mail, five minutes Cle Elum for Express, five minutes Stampede for passengers, four minutes Lester for express, five minutes Eagle Gorge, block signal 73.1 at Stop.
January 2 Number 25 arrived Yakima 16 minutes late, departed 24 minutes late, arrived Seattle 40 minutes late with 15 cars. Delayed Yakima eight minutes mail, 16 minutes East Auburn to detrain 100 passengers. -IWB
Snow Spreader Work Extra 283 today spread westward track Lester to Stampede and both tracks Martin to Easton including siding at Martin. Tied up at Cle Elum 140 PM. This train and engine crew will come on duty at 10 PM today, turn rig at Cle Elum, work some at Easton, then plow both tracks between Stampede and Lester and will tie up at Cle Elum in the AM. -IWB
Extra 7011D East about 430 PM today Conductor Mullen, Engineer Leonard, attempting to pick up the reduction of Number 640 January 1 at Lester off Track Three derailed RI 25991 a reacher car while backing in on this track account heavy snow conditions. Pick up not made. Mr. [R.A.] Robey with snow crew work extra in AM will move the two loads and two empties off Track Three to another clean track where pick up can be made. If this is not possible work extra will handle these cars back to Auburn when released from work train service. Mr. Robey advice what will be necessary to re-rail RI 25991. Memo: Line up Number 640 to get these cars if they are left at Lester. Lester has had ten inches new snow since 1201 AM January 2. -IWB
603 Extra 5403D West arrived Auburn 315 PM with 60-11-3960 including 26 Seattle cars, no carloaders. Seattle connection handled by Extra 256 West 675 Transfer Crew arrived Auburn 105 PM with 7-7-640 and set out 14 cars. Yard connection was made up at 350 PM, waybills 345 PM, Engine on 355 PM, air 420 PM, departed 420 PM with 31-1-1525. Arrived Seattle 510 PM. Delayed 35 minutes account train had to be rechecked list on wire and conductors list didn't agree. -AAJ
Number 26 left Seattle seven minutes late at 137 PM with 15 cars. Arrived Yakima 622 PM 37 minutes late, left 642 PM 52 minutes late. Delayed Seattle seven minutes baggage, fine minutes Auburn frozen switch lock, 12 minutes East Auburn waiting for bus from delayed Number 457, 19 minutes from Bristol to Kountze yellow signals being investigated, three minutes Ellensburg baggage, 15 minutes Yakima baggage.
Number 408 left Seattle 14 minutes late at 1229 PM with 16 cars. Arrived Portland 450 PM 35 minutes late. Delayed 14 minutes Seattle connecting with GN 357, ten minutes Tacoma passengers and baggage, three minutes East Olympia passengers and baggage, four minutes Centralia passengers and baggage, four minutes Kelso passengers and baggage.
Number 407 left Portland 23 minutes late at 553 PM with 14 cars. Arrived Seattle 953 PM 23 minutes late. Delayed Portland 23 minutes turn and service equipment on delayed Number 408. -IWB
