The Role of Women in the Church

• In the Restoration Church of Jesus Christ, women are truly treated equally with men in every respect.
• Through revelation from the Lord, we know about our Heavenly Mother, and the important role She played in the creation of the earth.
• The Lord has also revealed that it was never intended to deny women the blessings of the Holy Priesthood. Mother Eve held this priesthood, as did many faithful women throughout history. There is also ample historical evidence that women were ordained to the Melchizedek Priesthood by the Prophet Joseph Smith.
• In 1985, the Restoration Church of Jesus Christ became the first church of the restoration movement to ordain women to priesthood in recent years. Today, women are serving or have served in nearly every office in the Church.
