I came to Ohio in 59 and the collection I
had started came with me. It was mixed with dolls but that was ok for many were riding the
toy horses for me. The art teachers all encouraged my interest in art and so the love grew
of the horses that I could express on paper and with paint and sculpture allowed them to
escape into the world I knew. After I married I received my first horse for the first anniversary present from my husband who did not have that love of horses like I did but knew they were special. We enjoyed Hi Rosa for ten years and through all three babies the horse was my relaxation and comfort when stressed. It gave me a very special closeness with a horse I had never been able to achieve. I became an RN and worked nights and it got very difficult to give her attention when I felt she really should have it so it became a very painful realization that she needed a better home and she found that in a farm in the southeast Ohio area. . I thank my hubby for that experience and I am very happy Rosa was able to find a home after we shared so many great times together. I continued to find ways to draw or paint or sculpture with the encouragement of my family, sons, and husband with their additions to my collection. The serious painting came from our youngest and I can thank him for all those wonderful encouraging words and even for developing my website for viewing. Now a retired school bus driver I find time to be a grandma and a wife but most of the time I am a horse lover and collector and now artist. It is something that will never leave me. Thank you to all my supporters. |
