SYMBIOS is our company name. The name was selected to stand for our belief that people and things work a lot better when they work together -- in effect, symbiotically. SYMBIOS started out to be a publishing company, and a consulting firm for what you might call socio-environmental issues. Except for publishing and book sales, we are retired now. That doesn't mean we've given up our interest in such subjects as improving communication between decision makers and the public, and in helping small communities to diversify their economic base without sacrificing their quality of life. Far from it; you'll find sections of this website devoted to those topics. You'll also find sections on some of our other favorite topics -- history and genealogy, ecology and natural resources, religion, politics, and writing just for the fun of writing.
We'd love you to buy our books. We think we have some really good ones, and really good prices. Sales help us maintain the website without all those ugly and annoying commercials, too.
