I am the manager of bill and exchange at the foreign remittance department of Banque internationale de Abidjan (BIA). I am writing following the impressive information about you through my reseach from your country directory. its assured me of your capability and reliability to champion this businees opportunity.

In my departmentn we discovered an abandoned sum of $18.5m US dollars eighteen million, five hundred thousand U.S dollars) . In an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer who died along with his entire family in a concord plane crash in the year 2000 in paris that almost took the whole life of the pasengeres on board Since we got information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we cannot release unless somebody applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidelines but unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at the plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claim. It is therefore upon this discovery that I and other officials in my department now decided to make this businness proposal to you and release the money to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and we don?t want this money to go into the Bank treasury as unclaimed Bill.

The Banking law and guideline here stipulates that if such money remained unclamed after three years, the money will be transfered into the Bank treasury account as unclaimed fund. The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner and an Ivoirean cannot stand as next of kin to a foreigner. We agree that 30 % of this money will be for you as foreign partner, in respect to the provision of a foreign account, 10 % will be set aside for expenses incured during the business and 60 % would be for me There after I will visit your country for disbursement accoding to the percentages indicated.

Therefore to enable the immediate trnansfer of this fund to you as arranged, you must apply first to the bank as relations or next of kin of the deceased indicating your bank name, your bank account number, your private telephone and fax number for easy and effective communication and location where in the money will be remitted . Upon receipt of your reply, I will send to you by fax or email the text of the application. I will not fail to bring to your notice that this transaction is hitch free and that you should not entertain any atom of fear as all required arrangements have been made for the transfer . You should contact me immediately as soon as you receive this letter. Trusting to hear from you immediately. Your?s faithfully, DR,LATIF ADIL (bill and exchange manager bib). N/ intention of writing you through email is because i belive it is very confidential.

Dear Dr. Latif,

Thank you for writing to me regarding this exciting business proposal. I was not aware that my country's directory held such impressive information about me. I am glad that you have recognized me as capable and reliable champion.

I was saddened to learn of the tragic fate of one of your valuable customers in the Paris Concorde crash. It's a shame that all this money may have to go into a Bank treasury account. This is why I am interested in helping you. However, before I send you my personal information, I have a question that I would like to have clarified.

I understand that the victim has no known next of kin that you are aware of, and it will be my part of the business deal to state that I am in fact a relation to the deceased. Before I claim such a thing, it would be helpful to have some additional information regarding the deceased. I want to insure that my claims to this money are looked upon as legitimate in case questions are asked by certain authorities both in my country and in yours. Also, who shall I say I am with regard to this claim? For example, it would not be wise of me to claim the deceased as my father if his son was also killed on the plane. Should I claim that the deceased was my uncle?

I'm sure this and other details can be worked out. I am very excited at this business venture and look forward to hearing from you shortly.

Dear Dr. Latif,

Thank you for response and for answering my question with regard to my claim as the next of kin of the deceased. I understand that I am to say that I am the cousin of the deceased. Do I need more details for this? For example, am I to say that I am a cousin from his mother's side of the family or his father's side? Also, should I represent myself as a long lost cousin or a cousin who kept in regular contact with the deceased? My concern is that once I make my claim as next of kin, additional responsibilites regarding the deceased's estate will be thrust upon me. I realize that you are handling the deceased's financial affairs, but could there be other responsibilites that you are not aware of that I will also inherit once I claim to be his next of kin? For example, did the deceased have any pets or exotic animals that need to be taken care of? The reason I ask is because I am allergic to cats and have a fear of large lizards, so I would need to back out of the transaction if any are involved.

You mentioned that the deceased was a very friend of yours. Was he a high school chum or poker buddy? I hope you do not miss him very much, but I am glad that you feel he would trust you with his money. It is a funny coincidence that you mentioned the trip to Germany, as I speak some German. Was the deceased from Germany?

Regarding myself, I am a successful business man in the entertainment industry and have traveled extensively. Unfortunately I have not been lucky enough to find a pretty woman to take as my bride, but I am looking! I will also find a picture of myself that I can scan and send to you. I am also anxious to hear more about you, your lovely wife and your children. I also have another question. Here in my country, the title of "Dr" usually applies to someone in the medical profession or who is well scholared. How is it that someone such as yourself in the banking industry, has obtained the title of 'Dr", and what exactly does it refer to? As you can see, I am interested in knowing more about you. I will await your next response.
