(15 ) is converted to fraction of recombination by dividing the measured apparent excess power by the applied power, assuming no anomalous energy is being produced. These values are based on 1 cm2 and 4 cm2 nickel cathodes. The calculations of Will (16 ) are based on a cathode area of 1 cm2.
