To Whom It May Concern:
Just over a decade ago, a small group of believers
gathered for simple, heartfelt prayer. Not really understanding the power or magnitude of what we were asking, we prayed:
“Lord, if it is Your will, plant a church here—use us, and gather others, to proclaim the grace and truth of Your
gospel.” Our faith was tiny, but God grows the mustard seed. Today Grace Presbyterian Church of Utah is the fruit of
that first prayer, and countless others since then. We exist solely because of God’s love and grace, therefore our prayers
continue.
After years of searching for a permanent church
facility that would allow us to further our ministry of grace, we found what we believe is the perfect spot that God has intended
for us! Our congregation voted unanimously to make an offer for the church and grounds currently housing Trinity Lutheran Church in Layton, UT. The offer of $425,000 was made and accepted! Psalm 145:13 says: “The Lord is faithful to all His promises and
loving toward all He has made.”
Detailed information on our current fundraising efforts may be found by clicking on the links listed in the column
to the left.
Why do we feel this building is so crucial?
We desire to increase our effectiveness for the Kingdom of God and believe this investment is vital to reaching our
culture which needs the message of the Gospel. According to the American Religion Data Archive, Utah ranks 50th in the United States for the number of congregations of mainline denominations and 46th for evangelical congregations. According to an extensive study done by The Barna Group, the people
most likely to believe that they can earn their salvation
live in the Salt Lake region of Utah.
We ask that you will prayerfully consider
an investment in Grace Presbyterian Church. Your investment in our facility purchase will allow us to fulfill God’s
calling to serve our community in His name by reaching out compassionately and gracefully to a community which has less than
3% Protestant/Evangelical Christians. Please see the Facility Investment Campaign Fact Sheet and additional information in
your packet to obtain a better grasp of the vision of Grace Church. The time to act is now – we need to raise as much
as possible in cash donations and pledges so that we can purchase the building by July 1, 2009 and make essential repairs before
moving in this fall. We believe even in these troubled economic times this building purchase will
happen only through God’s will for us and His providence.
