COMSC 95 - WWW Publishing with HTML
Course Description: This course will help you become fluent in HTML, fully versed in the language syntax, semantics and elements of style. We will create Web Pages by using HTML tags along with text and graphics. We will also study how to create attractive documents that are both functional and useful.

Textbook: Shelly, Cashman & Woods, "HTML: Complete Concepts and Techniques". 3rd edition. Course Technology, 2000. ISBN 0-619-25502-1. The First and Second editions are no longer used with this course, 4th edition OK, but more expensive. Fifth edition for Windows Vista only, but not required.

Grading:
To receive credit for this class, each student must take the test and complete assignments. Class test (1) accounts for 40%, Personal Web Site accounts for 30% and book assignments account for 30%.
Homework must be turned in weekly by Sunday midnight of the corresponding week. Students who fail to turn in any homework by the fourth week may be dropped. Students must make a good faith effort to do the assignments correctly. This includes: reading the directions, proofreading your files source code and output and testing your work. Students who fail to do so will receive a 0 for the assignment. You will not be able to resubmit an assignment for credit if you have already received a 0 grade. If you are not sure if an assignment is correct or not, please ask for help. Keep in mind this is an on-line class. There are no on-campus or face to face meetings. If you are not comfortable working on your own, and feel that you need in-person help from an instructor, please take this class on-campus.
