Just a few quick suggestions:

You should be able to re-sell a ticket.  The only thing I care about is if the person beside me passes all security checks.  I believe that the restriction on re-selling tickets keeps prices artificially high.

How about full disclosure of frequent flyer miles used.  Let's require the airlines to issue monthly reports showing: the number of seats they flew between city A and city B on each day, the number of passengers using 'regular' frequent flyer miles between city A and city B on that day and the number of passengers using 'extra' miles between city A and city B on that day.

Why can't the traveler use or not use any part of an airline ticket in any sequence.  This restriction also keeps prices high.
