I'm a DJ for a roller skating rink near Cleveland, Ohio, and do some
work for Cleveland's radio station for Today's Christian Music, 104.9
WZLE. I was searching through the DC Talk pages (through Yahoo)
looking for new and unusual facts about DC Talk. Thanks!

I went to the dc talk concert the night after you did. It was in Virginia Beach.
It was all apart of a youth music festival which included Gotee
recording artists: Grits, Johnny Q. Public, Christafari, and dc talk.
It was great! I drove 2 1/2 hours each way that day to see them play.
The musical line-up was similar to the unplugged Disney line-up.
I snuck into their sound check and they did parts of their originals
and the Beatles Elenor Rigby. I had no idea that they did other Beatles
and Nirvana stuff. I think that is so cool. Whether it has christian or
secular roots, good music is good music, and with the dc touch I'm sure
it can be used effectively.

I'm glad to know another freak. Most of my friends enjoy this music and
they have to admit that it is really good music. Alas, the christian
messege perhaps makes them shy away. It seems that so many secular tunes
on the radio talk about god that it shouldn't be an issue.
The Sep. 14th concert was great and I got some quality pictures. If you
are interested you can see them on my home page which is under
construction (as always) within the next few weeks.
I want to see them again. Do you know their spring schedule? And who
they are touring with?
I saw Jars of Clay a couple of weeks ago. They were good, too. I think
that they have the potential to be really good musically. Their new
music comming out sounds pretty mature.
DC Talk is by far my favorite band, and it was great finding your page.
Keep up the good work. I'll be tuning in often.

Due to e-mail problems, I think my first message didn't get to your
mailbox. If it is there, here it is again. If not, then sit back and enjoy
the praises of your dc Talk homepage. Simply put- probably one of the best
on the net. I love the big bold headings and letters, the new articles, and
especially the new pictures!! The page makes you sit up and say, "These guys
simply rock!!!". There are a lot of weird Christian music pages on the net,
but yours takes the people who''ve never had the privelage of being
introduced to dc Talk, and immerses them into a total "Freak Land". If dct
was new to me, your page would make me run out to the nearest record store,
and snatch up all their albums. In the words of Siskel and Ebert, the page
is "two thumbs up- WAY UP- good holiday fun"!!! I also enjoyed the many
links, and the idea of other people's thoughts on the page. One slight
criticism, though- there needs to be more info. on their past, and possibly a
bio. on Toby, Mike, and Kevin, and even the musicians if you can. Other than
that, the page is highly informative, very visual- orientated, and very
modernly stylish, if that last combination even works. Toby would be proud.
You should e-mail freak headquarters after their tour in Europe and ask if
they surf the web, and if they like the hompages about them. Then post it-
that would be cool!!!!
I've met dc Talk, personally, twice, and have been a runner (glorified
gopher) for one of their shows. I have pictures, autographs, etc.... I even
got to help sew Toby's pant's (he wears Levi's)- not kidding. That was one
of the odd jobs, among others. I have attended many Christian concerts, and,
like you, enjoy writing reviews, and analyzing Christian and secular music.
I completely agree with the homage to Oasis- to bad the show was canceled
for Tampa, at the Sundome. Oh yeah, I'm from Tampa, too. I go to USF, and
am a freshman, just so you know. Did you have tickets to that show? I did.
Did you attend the Dave Matthew Band one at the Sundome? Wow, what a show!
Did you attend the Third Day/Seven Day Jesus show last month? It
rocked!! Are you going to the Jars of Clay concert Nov. 8, and the Audio
Adrenaline/Steven Curtis Chapman concert Dec. 9? I'm sure there will be
reviews of the show on your page- I look forward to reading them. Well, if
you got my first message, then o.k. But if not, I have plenty of dct stories
about backstage stuff, and have personal pictures of all of them, including
all the musicians. Well, if you need any for your page, I will happy to
oblige. If not, keep up the good work, and keep pluggin dct.

p.s.- interesting poetry- a bit like a Sixpence None the Richer song.
Lonely Moon's the best. Maybe also a bit like Sarah Masen. From: persun@lsk
