Brett's Concert Review of Subrosa
Date: 8/10/97
Place: State Theatre in St. Pete FL
Stars Out of Five: *****

State Theatre 8/10 I was at the state theatre on sunday to see Subrosa formerly the band who played for squirrels. i had read about travis and his stage presence but nothing could have prepared me for the show. it was bad enough that the lead singer for supporting act 5-8 got completly nude and played solo material after the band had left. but travis i mean the guy is just the most intense thing i have ever seen. the show was tight and he attacked his guitar with with a life i have never seen. like the greatest burden had climbed upon his back. he walked on stage with a cig in his mouth (dorals) and the show began. he had to put up with some heklers and the fact that his line from the amp was screwed. his guitar fed back constantly and travis was obviously irratated. travis announced the greatest version of "paint it black" you will hear as "the ending theme of subrosa" and said a few times "this is the last show we will ever play"...he almost seemed above anything out there...he would sing lyrics differently on pourpose (sep. LLTK)...at the end of the show some hecklers were giving him a hard time...what do you wanna hear he asked him. aerial...."does aerial sound like this?" and with that travis picked up a piece of wood with like 6 pedals bolted down and broke it over the ground....I picked up a set list so if you want it email me .... also if anyone has Jack G. email...he told it to me but i lost it... later, brett morgan ur 08/12/1997 13:12:06 by Puddin5@ix.netcom.com
