I want you to be pleased with the book or books you purchase from me. I love return customers. For that reason I want you return any item you are not satisfied with for a complete refund (ALL shipping and handling covered). You have thirty days to return items.
My rational for term grading follows.
FINE - As new, but not as crisp for older copies.
NEAR FINE - light shelf wear, still sharp looking. Wouldn't mind having it on your coffee table.
VERY GOOD - readily perceived as used but still good looking and of solid integrity. Wouldn't embarrass you on the coffee table.
GOOD - clearly used, but mechanically sound, all the material is there. Starting to get a well-worn look. May have corners starting to fray, stains on the covers, all corners bumped, moisture damage not affecting text, etc. You wouldn't put it on your coffee table. Jackets may have open tears or heavy edgewear or stains. Or it could have none this, just a little too used to be Very Good--I will probably call it Good plus or G+.
FAIR - has the well-worn look, or has a major flaw ( broken hinge, shaken, bad spine lean, ect.), or is just plain ugly. All the printed material is there.
POOR - missing material or hard to read (leaves rippled from water damage). Only of interest if a part of the book is in better condition (plates, maps, roster ...) or is rarely found.
X_LIB - has been in an institutional library and marked.
BCE, BOOK CLUB - book club edition. Of lower quality materials, representing a quality level between publisher's hardcover and a paperback. The books of some clubs are fairly decent and some publishers use poorer materials, but a publishers edition is almost always of better construction.
