Longs Peak - Kieners |
Started out the new millennium right with a one-day winter ascent
of Longs Peak with Bill W, Tom K, and Mark O. 13:37 car to car. |

Snowboarded Corbet's Couloir |
I wouldn't have had the guts to do this, but Chris W stepped up, and
I had to follow. We took the wimp's way in, side-slipping a ways
before having to drop less than 10 feet. |

White Rim in a Day |
We had 12 people attempt this! I finished the 100+ mile ride in 11:31
but spent probably around 9:15 actually riding. |

Resolution Arete |
Awesome climb with awesome partners (Bill W, Tom K, George B)! This was
my first grade V climb (20 pitches), and we did it car to car in just
over 13 hours. |

Devils Tower |
My second 50CC! Mike R and I had been wanting to climb the Durrance Route
for over a year. We finally got up there and thoroughly enjoyed the route. |

San Juan trip |
4 days of 13er-bagging with Matt O. We spent 3 days all alone up the West
Fork of the Cimarron River, with the highlight being our climb (and descent!)
of the north face of Coxcomb Peak. |

Dream Weaver |
With Lori K, climbed Dream Weaver on Mount Meeker, then traversed to Longs
and descended the north face. Awesome climb, beautiful weather, and a
great partner. |

Maroon Bells |
Climbed the Northeast Ridge of North Maroon (awesome!), traversed to South
Maroon (2 raps), then descended the South Ridge (drudgery). All in all, a
fantastic day of hiking and scrambling with Lori K. |

Capitol Peak "run" |
Bill W and I went for speed on this awesome 14er. Starting from the Capitol
Creek TH, we summitted in 3:27 and were back at the TH in 6:08. Perfect day
as we were right together the whole time. |

La Luz Trail run |
I've been wanting to run this trail up Sandia Crest in Albuquerque for a
while. Did the roundtrip in 2:45. Have to do the race some year. |

Hayden Spire |
Mark O and I soloed this during our Milner Pass to Bear Lake traverse.
This summit doesn't see a lot of traffic as the register was placed in
1989 and only had 40-50 entries. |

Flathead River |
4 fun days of rafting on the North Fork of the Flathead River in Montana
with the high school kids from my church. Beautiful country. Lots of
swimming. |

Canadian Rockies trip |
My first climbing trip to the Canadian Rockies. Climbed the North Ridge of
Mount Assiniboine, the Northeast Face route on Chinaman's Peak (aka Ha Ling
Peak), Skyladder on Mount Andromeda, Grassi Ridge on Wiwaxy Peak, and 3 other
peaks. With Bill W and George B. |

Pikes Peak Marathon |
Shocked myself this year, going much faster than I thought I was capable of.
Did the ascent in 3:17:52 (beating my best ascent time from 1998 by 16:05)
and the descent in 1:53:21 (beating last year's time by 7:32) for a roundtrip
of 5:11:13 (32:08 faster than last year). I was way psyched! |

San Juan trip |
Lori K joined me in 14er mode after Pikes. We took the train into Chicago
Basin this weekend, climbing Sunlight, Windom, Eolus, North Eolus, and
Jupiter. We then climbed San Luis on our last day. |

Antero |
Climbing Antero wouldn't seem like much of a highlight. But Lori K and
I started up Antero just after 6pm after climbing Shavano, Tabeguache,
UN 13712, and Jones Pk earlier in the day. We summitted and descended
in the dark. 8900+ vertical on the day! |

Snowmass |
Yup, another 14er highlight. Lori K and I did this in a day via Snowmass
Creek. Fall is beautiful in the Elks. I'll be back. |

Crestone Needle |
Climbed this solo while Lori K climbed Humboldt. The standard route was
quite icy and snowy and provided a fun challenge. Culebra remains as
my final 14er! |

Flatiron Top Ten |
Climbed Gerry Roach's top ten Flatiron routes in a day with George B. We
started in the dark at Chautauqua and finished 14:06 later in the dark in
Eldo. We climbed the Matron entirely by headlamp. This was a long, hard
day. |
