Governor's Cup Weather

Governor's cup forecasts are provided by Richard Kellerman, using Allentown, PA as the forecast site.   They are produced primarily for weekend days during the soaring season as time permits.  Ocaisionally, a weekday forecast will be produced if above average conditions are anticipated.

Producing forecasts requires a lot of detail work, but the Internet has made obtaining the raw data significantly easier.   To get an overview of how the forecasts are prepared, check out the Forecast Procedures.   This is a tutorial put together by Richard, from which anyone could obtain the data to do their own forecasts for other sites.

Regular forecasts are generally prepared for weekend days throughout the soaring season.  Be sure to check the date and time stamp on the forecast, as situations may prevent us from posting every weekend.  Also, be sure to read the cautionary note in Forecast Procedures.

Please select forecasts from the following:

In addition to the above forecast links, we maintain a list of pilots who have requested to receive forecasts via email.    Initially, this list will be limited to  a) pilots who submit a Governor's Cup flight claim or b) pilots who return pilot reports of observed versus forecast conditions.

Please Email the weatherman with suggestions and observations on actual vs. forecast weather.  mailto:quovadis@ix.netcom.com
