"Like all DCA's, there are always social events that are fun and this DCA followed that tradition in fine style, but it must be said that the Beach Party buffet dinner with live music on Thursday night was the BOMB!!!! Live music for listening and dancing was provided by The Fabulous Shades. This seven piece band was the ultimate as they played hits from the 50's, 60s and 70s. The dance floor areas stayed full from the moment the band began until they played their final encore as everyone clamored for still more. Even the waiters and waitresses serving drinks joined in dancing to the irrestistible rhythms. Congo lines formed, groups of four or five dancing together could be seen. Some folks never sat down except to catch their breath for a moment or two and then hurried back to join in the fun. This party was truly a highlight of DCA 2006!!!"

“I cannot imagine the party at the Boardwalk Beach Resort being any better than it was.  I had so many people that had not heard of The Shades and wanted to know who you were, where you came from and how absolutely great you sounded and loved the selection of songs you played.  Working with the band was a pleasure.  Ya'll were so accommodating.  The songs were good to dance and sing to and it sounded so much like the originals that it brought back to the good old times.  I would say that if you have anyone that is contemplating using the band and would call me I would deem it a pleasure to tell them much we enjoyed having you.  One thing I told a lot of my friends before the party that you are one of the only bands I know that has a horn section and that was a big part of the music during our era.  The party was great and ya'll were most of the reason.  It'll be remembered and talked about for years.
