History of the Band

Comprised of seven members, The Fabulous Shades have been performing since their high school and college days.  Several years ago, a core group from the original Fabulous Shades got together to jam and play occasionally at the request of friends and acquaintances.

Encouraged and enjoyed by so many supporters, the guys regrouped to form the current The Fabulous Shades band.  A few musician friends, who had played in similar college groups, such as The Kavaliers , The Early Tymes , The Daring Young Men , and The Original Dedications (see pictures below), were invited to join the original members. 

While in college, these original groups performed at numerous fraternity and sorority parties and formals at the University of Alabama, Auburn University, Emory University, Troy State University , as well as various college student “hot spots” along the Gulf Coast, such as The Old Dutch, The Beach Party, The Red Rooster, and others.

Today The Fabulous Shades perform for conventions, private parties, weddings and other public and private events.  The Shades offer audiences a diverse repertory and polished show, appropriate for most any occasion.
