Mr. Larry Hughes

Bass Guitar & Vocals
AKA, “Bubba,” originally from Greenville , AL , began playing music early on, with encouragement from talented family members – Larry's father, the late L.J. Hughes, played flat top with the great Hank Williams, during Hank's early years. Larry's son, Jay, continues the tradition on guitar and vocals, performing in venues from Alabama to Ireland . Bubba's career began with The Kavaliers in 1964, and the group's first record, “Get Your Feet Off Me,” continues to enjoy play time.. The Kavaliers expanded in 1967 to the Original Dedications, which had a number 1 hit in the Montgomery area, with “I've Been Hurt.” Although Uncle Sam called in 1969, Bubba still found time to perform everything from gospel to acoustic blue grass. In the 1960's, Bubba had the great fortune to perform with Sam and Dave on their inaugural tour, which included hits like “Hold On, I'm Coming.”
