17-18 July 1997 Laurel Auditorium, Asheville-Buncombe Community College Asheville, North Carolina Agenda and Focus : The program will cover all aspects of disaster preparedness in communities throughout the Southeastern U.S., Gulf States, and the Caribbean. The workshop will include discussions of family preparedness and business risk management, local government emergency management and community hazard mitigation projects, Federal Emergency Management Agency roles and capabilities, Military Support to Civil Authority, public health issues, Chemical- Biological Terrorism, violence in the workplace, effective use of volunteer resources, animal care in disaster, and public-private partnerships.
