She will join former team mate Heather Robinson who signed last year.
School: Lanark Eastland Sport: Softball Position: Pitcher College: DePaul I'm not for sure, but that is what I've been told. Friend said she has a full-ride scholarship.
The earlier report of Nicole Pike's transfer to Johnston City was in error. Pike has not yet officially transferred, and therefore publication of reports which indicate her intention to do so would not be appropriate at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience, but I will update you if this transfer does come through.
Nicole Pike Fairfield junior, Pike, who won the 1998 Class A hitting derby, will bring much-needed offensive support to the Johnston City lineup next season as a Lady Indian.
Kara Pesavento "Every time Kara walks out on the field, she gives us a chance to win," commented Harrisburg head coach Red Stafford, and he wasn't kidding. Pesavento led the Lady Dogs to a school record 32 wins, picking up 25 of them herself. Pez had a microscopic 0.42 ERA and averaged eight strikeouts a game. After being courted by every community college in Southern Illinois, Pesavento chose to further her career at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, South Carolina.

Janelle Birky Janelle is an outstanding distance runner, a 2 x All Stater in Cross Country placing 5th at XC state in 98 and 4th in 97. She has qualified for the state track meet in the mile, two mile and the 4x800 in past years, becoming an All Stater in track also. -A Runner
Jasmin Jackson Jasmin is a 2 x State Champion in the Class AA Long Jump as well as a state placer in the 100, 200, 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400. Congratulations to Jasmin on an outstanding career and best of luck this year at the state meet.
Jaime Hafford Jaime Hafford has played a crucial role in Harrisburg's overwhelming softball success this spring, and looks to go on to college on her talent. Hafford has hit the ball well all spring and played spectacular defense in centerfield.

Lindsay Jones Jones has been a three-sport standout in Harrisburg, most recently lighting up opposing pitchers for the Lady Bulldogs in softball. She will continue her career at Southeastern in volleyball.

Katie Butler, from Normal Community High School, is going to Iowa University on a track scholorship. She is an All-State Class AA 800 Meter runner. Great job Katie! Runner
Naperville North High School, Women's Golf Andrea Williams of Naperville, has signed a full women's golf scholarship with the University of Cincinnati. Andrea was UC number one recuit along with several other schools. Other schools that offered scholarships, were Southwest Missouri state, Southern Illinois Univ(Edwardsville & Carbondale), University of Memphis, Rollins College,FL Southern Florida and others. Many other colleges, including Northwestern, Michigan State, University of Oregon, Kansas, Univ of Tulsa, Methodist, in all over sixty schools had interest. In 1998-99 HS season, Andrea was the Chciago Tribune player of the week, won the prestigous Waukeegan Invitational tournament, was IJGA (Illinois junior golf association) player of the year. Andrea won 13 tournments, was second six times, third 4 times, was medialist 13-15 tournaments in duel HS matches. Andrea broke all of the girls records at Naperville North high during her career, with low average, low score, under par and low putts. |
