  1. Nashville
  2. Harrisburg
  3. Vienna
  4. Herrin
  5. Elverado
  6. Edwards County
  7. Fairfield
  8. Johnston City
  9. Carmi
  10. Pinckneyville

Nashville and Harrisburg have to be the pre-season picks for sectional winners (unless the IHSA does something funny with the assignments like they did last year). Vienna will be very competitive since they return most their regional championship team from a year ago. Herrin is always a class operation, and Elverado is up and coming. Edwards County and Fairfield lost some key players, but are always competitive. Johnston City got hit hard by graduation, losing seven starters, they should be down this year. Carmi and Pinckneyville will be tough to beat, as well.

  3. Vienna
  4. Herrin
  5. Elverado
  6. Edwards County
  7. Fairfield
  8. Johnston City
  9. Carmi-White County
  10. Pinckneyville

Nashville returns a big part of the team which won 4th at state last year. Harrisburg has six starters back from a 32-6 team. Vienna returns most of its regional championship team from last year, while Herrin has coach Bruce Jilek (need I say more.) Elverado surprised everybody by winning a regional last year, and should be very good this time out. Edwards County is always challenging, and Fairfield is a very well coached team. Johnston City lost seven players from last year's team, including their pitcher, so they should be way down this year. The same holds true for Carmi and Pinckneyville, but they could always jump up and surprise somebody. Overall: southern Illinois will be just as strong this year as last!

I think Altamont Lady Indians should be noticed as at the Charelston Holiday Tournament they beat Teutopolis Lady Wooden Shoes 3rd ranked in the state at the Championship Game to their first win ever at the Charelston Holiday Tournament. With 2 seconds left in the final quarter Altamont down by 1 point Jodie Heiden went to the free-throw line and scored 2 baskets to win the tournament. Altamont Lady Indians is currently ranked 12th in the state with a record of 12-3 with 10 straight wins

Rochester has had some problems but is playing much better(W-L game). Williamsville can handle most teams. The rest have some nice players.

I am Glad that right now Altamont Lady Indians are ranked 12th in the state but I think they derserve some better credit and at least to be 4th ranked in the state on my polls and if you think thats to pushy then at least 5th or 6th. But no less than 6th. The reason why I think this is because at the Charelston Holdiay Tournament the Altamont Lady Indians beat 3rd Ranked in the state Teutoplis Lady Wooden Shoes with a 18-2 record in the championshipe game. The Altamont Lady Indians were down by 1 point with 2 seconds left on the clock when Jodie Heiden set foot at the free-throw line and sank 2 baskets to beat the Teutopolis Lady Wooden Shoes and it was Altamont's first time to ever win at the Charelston Holiday Tournament! Not to mention 10 straight wins!

With sharp-shooter(Batty) a 2 year starter teams can't give her a good look. And with Ms. Hustle(Dunn) she'll give any point gaurd the chills with her tough D. Breese Central has the ability to win it all. Their offense is streaky, but their defense is very stingy, and the press is teriffic. Heimann and Klostermann possibly the best guard duo in the state. Watch out for the Lady Cougars. Recent win over Okawville built confidence.
