Mario's Scouting Background

I tried to join Cub Scout Pack 318 (Edison, NJ) in April 1981 since it was my brother's Pack but was too old to be a Cub Scout. Fortunately, Scouts from BSA Troop 318 (Edison, NJ) were present that night for the WEBELOS crossing the bridge to Boy Scouts. So I signed up with T-318 and waited for Richard J. Labot to join the troop 3 years later.

In my seven years as a youth, I earned 23 Merit Badges, 12 Skill Awards, 2 Catholic Religious awards, 3 Historic Trail awards, and BSA Snokel. Youth positions held were Troop Historian, Assistant Patrol Leader (APL) and Patrol Leader for Tiger Patrol and Troop Scribe. Was inducted into the Order of the Arrow in 1986 which I became attained Vigil Honor in 1990. After reaching age 18, I became an adult leader with BSA Troop 318 (Edison, NJ) holding positions from Assistant Scoutmaster (ASM) to Troop Committee Member.

After the disbandment of T-318 in 1998, I joined BSA Troop 218 (Edison, NJ) and was one of it's Assistant Scoutmasters (ASM) and served briefly as it's Troop Committee Chairman until I left in January, 2001.

Currently, I served Scouting as an District volunteer as Unit Commissioner and Boy Scout Roundtable Stafffor the SEMEOS District, Central New Jersey Council, BSA. Recently, I joined the Troop Committee of BSA Troop 12 (Edison, NJ).
