This is a diagram of one of the turtle tanks (click on it to see a larger version). The tanks are acrylic, and about 2' by 4 1/2'.
The water end of the tank has a false bottom, a technique borrowed from frog keeping. Since the goal for turtle care is to keep the water cleaner by letting the coco-peat sift through the plastic grid, I have left off the fine screen that usually goes over the grid. The pictures above this show real tanks of this type.
