Information and Care

There is a lot of excellent information about various species of dart frogs on the web, so only the most basic information is given here.

Description: Dart frogs are small, colorful frogs that are active during the daytime.

Wild habitat: Dart frogs are from the rainforests of Central and South America, where they live on the forest floor and on low plants.

Captive care: These frogs require warm, humid conditions in a terrarium well planted with live plants. They can be kept in pairs or groups (depending on species) and need at least 5 gallons of tank space per frog. They eat fruitflies and other small insects.
