Munchee's breeder was finished using her as a dam so she sold the "4 yr. old" Cairn to me for $35. After a couple
of hundred dollars later in vet bills and finding out that Munchee was 6 yrs. old I was a bit unnerved. Munchee had dermatitis,
a soon to be discovered tumor, weighed 10 pounds, and had serious phobias. It took me about a year but Munchee soon came out
of her shell and was a fixture in the home. Munchee was probably the kindest dog I've ever owned. There was not a nasty bone
in her body, which in part explains how I was able to get her Canine Good Citizenship title without any practice. She eventually
became the grandmother of the household, busily spying in on the Norfolk and Cairn puppies that would arrive. Because of her
I began an interest in Cairns which led me to think about obtaining a show quality bitch. Munchee passed away a few months
short of her 15th birthday and gave me nine wonderful years. It is because of her that Mercator Norfolk eventually became
Mercator Norfolk and Cairns.
