The statue of Our Lady was commissioned by Carl Demma
of Oak Lawn, IL. and is currently owned by Mrs. Carl
Demma, who continues the work of her now deceased
husband. He had sold his business to create this statue,
which he shipped to St. Louis for Pope John Paul II's
blessing in January 1999. On Mother's Day, 1999,
Cardinal Francis George blessed it at Holy Name Cathedral
in Chicago. Since then, the statue has been touring
mostly in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
