CAM in PA Programs - Future Possibilities
			The CAM Physician Asst program will be designed as an integrative PA model. Due to the accelerated nature of this program conventional PA coursework will be been modified to include CAM related constructs, rather than create separate courses. Clerkships will include experiences in nutrition, homeopathy, accupuncture, stress management and Multicultural diversity issues (ie Spirituality and health). Speciality topics will be integrated into coursework involving, surgery, pediatrics, oncology, geriatrics, psychiatry, neurology and others speciality courses. Clinical nutrition, stress management and integrative pharmacology theory will be integrated into preclinical courses. A CAM related Thesis is required of all CAM PA students. This innovative program could be designed to be modular in structure. This approach would allow will graduates to enter the work force upon graduation and then return to a complete Physician program which could award the MD, DO or ND degree. Innovative nursing collaborations could be quite productive.
