Outcome measures Rough Conceptual Draft 1.1 September 23, 2001 - incomplete

To measure the validity of CAM related curricular changes; several outcome measures will be used. These indicators will be chosen to be socially relevant, economically important and will be linked to constructs linked to significant curricular innovations. Social relevance in this context is related to both prevalence and seriousness of the disease. Economic importance, while related to social relevance, will be differentiated into cost of innovative treatments, costs to the US work force in terms sick time, disability and insurance payments.

Three initial indicators for consideration are cardiovascular disease, depression and back pain.
