The next meetings of the planning committee for the 50th reunion will be:

When:  Monday, October 17, 2011 7:00 pm

Where:  Lynden Incorporated, 18000 International Blvd., Suite 800, SeaTac, WA 98188.  Check in at the guard station on the Lower Plaza ("LP") level.  Free parking is in the back or east side of the building.  (This is the same building in which the 13 Coins restaurant is located).

All class members and spouses are invited to attend and join our planning/working committee.  Based on previous reunions, we will probably do much socializing and brain-storming with a focus on subcommittee plans to perform certain tasks and our efforts to reach all class members.

If you cannot attend, your input is still welcome.  Please convey your thoughts and preferences via email at this site for sharing prior to the meeting with committee members and at the meeting.

Also, all class members, please provide your email addresses for our class database to help us save on the cost of postage.  We can use everyone's help to find lost classmates.

As the primary venue we have reserved The Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland, the evening of Saturday, September 17, 2011. A reception and the taking of a class picture will start at 6:00 p.m. with dinner starting at 7:15 p.m.  Attire is "dressy" casual.  We understand that for those leaving after 9:00 p.m., no parking attendant is on duty, but your vehicle is available.

For additional time together, the following activities have been added:

Friday, 3:30 p.m. at Cleveland High School, a tour of the school.

Friday evening, 6:00 p.m. at Azteca Mexican Restaurant, 153 SW 157th St in Burien, upstairs, separate checks.  RSVP to Rudy or Jerie Vukelic (jrvuke@comcast.net, 206/244-1403) by September 7, 2011.

Sunday all day, 9:00 a.m. to one-half hour before dusk at the City of Redmond's Idylwood Beach Park - Picnic Shelter on Lake Sammamish, 3650 West Lake Sammamish Parkway NE, rain or shine, bring your families,  no alcoholic beverages.  At 1:00 p.m. BBQ of hamburgers and hot dogs, buns and condiments will be provided.  You will need to bring your own snacks, salads, desserts and/or beverages.  Please RSVP to Rudy or Jerie Vukelic (jrvuke@comcast.net, 206/244-1403).

Ron Adamsen (ronadamsen@msn.com) on behalf of the golf committee is seeking an estimated head count of  those who would golf on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Jefferson Park.  Starts at 8:00 a.m.  Ron estimates the cost at around $65 which includes green fees, a prize fund, food ticket and golf cart. A minimum of 16 players is needed.

Many classmates are taking Holland America's Amsterdam on a three day Seattle round-trip cruise departing on Friday, September 23, 2011.  Thus far, at least thirteen cabins have been booked for Class of '61 members.

The ship has inside cabin openings based on our latest information.  Bookings can be made directly thru Holland America (Customer Service phone # 1-877-932-4259) or thru an online service such as Expedia, Orbitz or a travel agent.
