Welcome to my special little box for Peter & Gordon and Chad & Jeremy stuff!!

These two groups, both British pop duos from the 1960s, are little remembered today, and I for one happen to think that's a bad thing! My intention with this page is to contribute my two cents on their music in general and their specific releases in, well, not so general...

Peter Asher and Gordon Waller

...were the first British artists to hit number one in America after the Beatles finally relinquished (if temporarily) their stranglehold on the top five. This record was "A World Without Love". Five years later, after most other first wave British invasion groups were long since gone, Peter & Gordon finally broke up. During the time that they were together, they produced some of the most pleasant and just downright good songs of the 1960s. Sadly, their most significant artistic achievement was their final LP, "Hot Cold And Custard", which, as the public ignored it in droves, is one of the hardest to find records by a significant British invasion artist.

On thses pages you will find a comprehensive review of their LPs and CDs. I will, in addition to an in depth discography, and rarities evaluations, provide my usual charming commentary, and at no cost to you, even.

Chad Stuart and Jeremy Clyde

...had the unusual distinction of being the British invasion artists that spent the most of their time on US television. From "Laredo" to "Dick Van Dyke", "Patty Duke" to "Batman", they did them all. This was, of course, marvellous to fans, but was primarily because their agents "took care of all the finances," if you know what I mean. After making two albums on the World Artists label, they moved on to (artistically) bigger and better things on the Columbia label. Here, though their output consistently improved, their commercial fortunes dropped. Their crowning moment as a group, much like Peter and Gordon, was achieved on their final (and immensely unpopular) album. I won't rant about the rarity of this album, called "The Ark", because, for some strange reason (my bets are on divine influence) Sony Japan released the album on CD in 1997.

In the coming weeks and months, look for the same sort of stuff on Chad and Jeremy that will be on my Peter and Gordon pages. Discographies, pictures, information on alternate takes, releases, and all that sort of fabulous stuff.

If you don't like Peter and Gordon or Chad and Jeremy, I suggest you go somewhere else before I start whining...
