The currently known vocabulary is supplied as a word list organized by root element in tabular form. This list can be used as a dictionary by using the browser find function for the given word.

As with all languages, the meanings are limited by the particular semantic range of the Ankanian word. The English translation is thus approximate, in some cases virtually equivalent and other cases, less so. Since the words are governed by roots, this can be used to help delineate the exact usage of a particular word. For example, imagine that one needs the Ankanian word for "love". A search would yield: pati, kwosi, rokósi, xundi, fandi. One could get an understanding of these words by observing their roots. pati comes from the root relating to empathy so indicates a kind of moral love where one puts himself in the place of another. kwosi is the (maximum) emphatic of kosi, like, so is a general expression of love that could be used for anyone who is a very strong friend. rokósi is similar, but the prefix ro- implies a mysterious origin, so it has a more romantic slant. fandi is from the root relating to curiosity, so indicates an excitement or infatuation. xundi is from the root for awareness which without an understanding of ankanian spiritualism is perhaps not obvious. xundi indicates, not an emotion, but a perception. It is like love, but it is achieved through the greater realization of the true nature of humanity.

At the top of each list under the root (which is shown by capital letters), the word given is called the keyword. This word is recommended to be learned in order to acquire the particular root. The keyword list gives these words thematically organized to facilitate their memorization. In this list, related roots are also usually grouped together. However, related roots are not always in the same category, so sometimes a keyword will be followed by a capitalized word in parenthesis which indicates a related root.

To locate grammatical information based on English words, prefixes, and suffixes, there is a grammatical index. This has the English elements alphabetized and followed by the corresponding Ankanian element and the section number (in square brackets) pointing to the section in the tutorial grammar that discusses the element. If the number is preceded by a "w", it means the section in Word Formation.
