WALKING AWAKE!

We are spirits living in human bodies. With our first breath, our bodies are imprinted with the energies of our solar system. We are the living expression of that moment. As time passes, a planet's position reflected in your natal birth chart continues to move. For instance: Every 4 minutes your ascendant has moved one degree, that's why your correct time is important. Every 2 1/2 days the Moon has moved one full sign. Every 12 months Jupiter advances one sign. You may have been born with Jupiter in any of the twelve signs but knowing what sign it is in now gives you insight into what is currently growing and expanding in your life.

I think it is very difficult to accept astrology until you see how it works in your life.

Here's how you can do that.

Each planet in your chart describes a particular task or function. Of the ten planets that make up your natal chart, five (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) signal your currently unfolding challenges. An understanding of the energies (sign), the functions (planets), the circumstances (house/s) and affects (transits) allow you to Walk Awake through life fully awake and consciously involved with life's challenges.

You'll need a copy of your chart.

If you don't have one, let me know and I'll help you get one.

Now find the house that has Capricorn - g on the cusp.

A cusp is the line that divides one house from another.

(The 1st from the 2nd, 2nd from the 3rd etc.)

If a sign is not on the cusp, it is 'intercepted' - completely contained within a house.

There are 12 houses in every chart. Each house has a specific meaning.

 Here are their  distilled meanings.

1)  the way you project yourself, your physical body and its appearance and independently taken action

2)  your personal resources - material, mental, spiritual, and your sense of security

3)  everyday communication or information coming into and from familiar areas such as siblings, family members, co-workers, husband, or  wife, neighbors, and areas considered as local

4) your physical abode, your home, your family and the end of an issue

5) your children of your mind or body, your creativity, creative recreation, active imagination, lovers and romance

6) your daily domestic routine, your health, diet, daily duties and service

7) your business, marriage, or personal partnerships and the general public

8) reciprocal exchanges, other’s money, inheritances, legacies, insurance matters, transformation, personal regeneration & degeneration, beginnings or endings, deaths or births

9) travel and that which is alien or foreign, foreigners, study and places of  higher education, along

with books and publishing and specialists that require extensive training.

10) your career, your public standing, how the community classifies you and your public reputation

11) your friends,  social standing, a  group, your personal hopes and wishes

12) your self-sustainment or self undoing,  places  and times of  being alone or confined (hospital, prisons), that which is hidden, illnesses, psychic, occult and intuitive knowledge, what must be done by and for one’s self

So, let's begin with Jupiter.  Jupiter is now in the sign of Capricorn - g.  Find the cusp or house that contains Capricorn - g in your chart.  What is the degree on that cusp?  Let's use our example:  Judy Olson has 17o g 44' or (17 degrees 44 minutes of Capricorn) on her 9th house cusp.  That indicates that the early degrees, zero to 17 degrees 43 minutes of Capricorn permanently resides in her 8th house, while 17 degrees 44 minutes to 30 degrees of Capricorn permanently resides in her 9th house.

So, for Judy - her 8th and 9th houses will be activated by transiting Jupiter. In December of 2007, Jupiter changed signs in her 8th House of (reciprocal exchanges, other's money, inheritances, legacies, insurance matters, transformation, personal regeneration & degeneration, beginnings or endings, deaths or births.) This changing of signs signaled a switch from expansion to consolidation of her 8th House issues.  March, July and November of '08 Jupiter will zigzag back and forth across her 9th House cusp (travel, that which is alien or foreign, foreigners, study and places of higher education, along with books, publishing and specialists that require extensive training.) She will alternately need to focus on consolidating 8th and then 9th House events.

For each of the five significant planets, I have listed the degrees it travels per month. Let's say it's June.  In June, Jupiter will transit the 21st, 20th, 19th, and 18th degrees of Capricorn. Notice that the degrees are moving in reverse (retrograde), at some point they stop (station) and then move forward (direct motion).  If you look at the degrees you'll see that their 'station' and 'direct motion' will happen in September.

Jupiter in Capricorn - g

Jan     3o - 09o   Feb 09o - 15o  Mar 15o- 20o   Apr 20o - 22o

May 22o- 21o    Jun 21o - 18o     Jul  18o - 14o     Aug 14o - 12o

Sep  12o - 13o   Oct 13o - 16o    Nov 16o - 21o   Dec  22o - 26o

FUNCTION: On 12/19/07 the planet of increase and expansion moved into Capricorn - g. It focuses and encourages us to see the bigger picture and make changes to the house it is transiting. Capricorn-g favors growth through practicality, industriousness, dedication, humility, conventional and respectful means.  Jupiter's (expansion) continues to dance with Pluto (transformation) for the most of the year, suggesting the need to grow is linked with an ability to grow. Consequently, leaving behind or revamping will figure into the equation. Capricorn - g energy is ambitious, cautious, business-like with a touch of “street” smarts. Your Capricorn - g House is where you begin small and build respect over time.  This House is closely tied to your need and desire to be given recognition. This House is where little of practical consequence escapes your notice as you try to take advantage of every opportunity for practical advancement that comes your way.  Because this energy rules the skin, teeth, bones and joints, extra effort will safeguard these areas of our bodies. On the negative side, when this energy is improperly used it brings a nasty and new meaning to the phrase “user friendly.”  Being friendly only so that one can use another always gets someone angry or hurt. Good business is not good when another is screwed and you skip all the way to the bank. IMPORTANT:   There are no free lunches!

Saturn in Virgo-c

Jan   08o - 07o   Feb 06o - 04o   Mar 04o - 02o   Apr 02o - 01o

May 01o - 02o   Jun  02o - 04o  Jul   04o - 07o   Aug 07o - 11o

Sep  11o - 15o   Oct  15o - 18o  Nov 18o - 20o  Dec  20o  - 21o

FUNCTION:  On 9/3/07 we are beginning the 2 ½ year trek of Saturn's transit through Virgo-c. Our lessons shifted to details, service, health, work and organization. Subsequently our focus must move to working precisely with the issues our Virgo-c House represents. Getting things organized, doing our part, dotting the ‘i’s and crossing the‘t’s is where it’s at. There is little or no tolerance for work that is riddled with errors or sloppy. “There’s no crying in baseball here.”  As a restructuring of your Virgo-c House begins and if any of your planets fall between 1o - 21o degrees of Gemini-`, Virgo-c, Sagittarius-f or Pisces-i prepare yourself to make some revisions. If your Sun sign falls in one of these degrees of Virgo do not force your body as Saturn restricts the energy ordinarily available to your body. Healthful practices and rest are both needed and required as Saturn conjuncts your Sun.  Our solar systems energies work with and get along with each other all of the time, however, when our free-will over-invests or under-invests ourselves in any particular one of them, a transit is just the thing we need to help us make an adjustment thereby allowing sustained growth and harmony to continue. Opportunities can be lost because we were unwilling to refine, refinish or analyze the details involved. For more about decoding your personal challenge ask about Walking Awake - Saturn.

Uranus in Pisces-i

Jan   15o -16o   Feb 16o - 18o  Mar 18o- 19o   Apr 19o - 21 o

May 21o -22o    Jun  22o - 22o    Jul   22o- 22o     Aug 22o - 21o

Sep  21o -20o    Oct 19o  - 19o   Nov 19o- 18o    Dec  18o- 19o

Uranus began its seven year trek of Pisces-i on 3/10/03. It is through our senses that we have learned everything we know.  The rut breaker Uranus in spiritual and inclusive Pisces-i puts everyone in touch with their faith, their 'sixth sense' or their fears.  By paying attention, time will tell if your 'gut instincts' were insights or fears. Becoming familiar with the concept that our faith and 'sixth sense' are not easily confirmed is uncomfortable but necessary.  Faith is like a radio wave unseen and unheard until we use a radio and tune in. We are being challenged now to develop our internal radios in positive ways. A useful philosophy  or spirituality can fill our inner thirst. It allows us to transcend our everyday lives.  It merges us with the collective and helps us maintain an inner peace. A belief system gives us reasons to hope when circumstances or  our fears simply exhaust  us.  Without faith, a 'sixth sense' or an innate trust that things are happening so that all of us can grow, we can become fear-full and behave unnecessarily defensive or aggressive. Uranus urges us to “break free” of these negative reactions. It's important to note that faith will not be used by this sign as a clever substitute for avoidance. If your Sun sign or any planet falls between 15o - 22o degrees of Gemini-`, Virgo-c, Sagittarius-f, or Pisces-i expect a sudden and unanticipated change.

Neptune in Aquarius -h

Jan   20o - 21o   Feb 21o - 22o              Mar 22o- 23o   Apr  23o - 24o

May 24o - 24o   Jun  24o - 23o  Jul   23o- 23o     Aug 23o - 22o

Sep  22o - 21o   Oct 21o  - 21o  Nov 21o- 21o    Dec  21o- 22o

This planet changes our lives by dissolving, obscuring or instilling in us a desire for the ideal or perfection. We move from what is to wondering “Surely, there is something better than this!” Sometimes the ideal replaces reality as one's thinking insidiously shifts from the actual to the fanciful or ridiculous. Great care must be taken when dealing with this energy for if ever there was a slippery slope this is it.  Healthy skepticism is needed as this planet speaks for what our spirit and collective humanity desires.  Any planets we have from 20o - 24o of Taurus -_, Leo-b, Scorpio-e and Aquarius -h are not as solid as we have come to believe. If your Sun sign falls within these degrees, be careful about sacrificing yourself for some ideal or cause and completely depleting yourself in the process. Your body has constant and urgent needs that must be maintained like exercise, nourishing food, socialization, work and rest. These needs do not disappear because you have work to do, a cause to fight, or have sustained a tremendous emotional loss. It is possible to wake up after this transit is over and wonder,” What was I thinking?" On the other hand, if we have become too rigid in expressing our planets in Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius this transit will help soften those hard edges. Neptune deals with solutions but frequently there are veils and distortions that must be dealt with first. Neptune is of particular help to all creative processes.

Pluto in Sagittarius -f and Capricorn - g

Jan  29o -  0o    Feb   0o-  0o     Mar  0o -   1o    Apr   1o  -   0o

May  0o -  0o      Jun   0o- 29o      Jul  29o - 28o     Aug 28o - 28o

Sep  28o- 28o    Oct 28o- 29o      Nov 29o-   0o    Dec    0o-   1o

This planet always brings evolution! Attempts to resist the ultimate changes it brings are futile and therefore made more painful by our resistance to change. Pluto's job is to destroy or remove whatever has become stagnant in our life. Frequently, we do not think what is being removed is stagnant, but time shows it was. Once this has been done, opportunities for new growth can then be pursued.  To make these necessary changes, these issues must be consciously addressed. Subsequently, ignorance here is not bliss but rather ignorance equals pain. This transit affects all planets we have from 28o - 30o of  Sagittarius -f  and 0o -  1o of Capricorn -g. This transit marks a point of no return and as time passes you will regard this transit as the most important, powerful and memorable experiences of your life.  Take heart because this transit happens only once every 250 years.

This year we come to understand what truth is and is not.  Ideas like 'bigger is better' and ‘might makes right' will be relegated to what they always were … advertising  promotions.

I would like to leave you with this thought,

"And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.

And whatever your labor and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life,

                                                     keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world."
