See also #9. 8. John Haile will, Isle of Wight Co., VA wills 10:297, FHL microfilm 0,032,025 Among his bequests were Negroes Jinny, Silvia, Esther, David and Dick to his wife Hannah, and at her death to Morris Hatchell, William Hatchell, Peter Hatchell, Simon Haile, and Diana Hatchell "their equal parts of the above Negroes." Elsewhere Simon Haile was called his son. See also #8. 9. Isle of Wight County, Virginia 1759-1763 Court Order Book, pp. 182, 308. In 1760 and 1762 Morris Hatchell, son of William Hatchell, deceased was to be bound out. See records 7 and 8 that would imply Morris Hatchell was a son of Hannah by a first marriage. 10. Evidence that Mary's husband, surname Harris, was Matthew is: a) Matthew Harris will, Greene Co., GA wills E:123-124, FHL Microfilm 158291. Written 12 Dec. 1810 and named children James Harris, Nelson Harris, Christianna Hills, Polly Pyron, Morris Harris. b) Southampton Co., VA deeds 4:47-48, FHL Microfilm 34006. James Harris and Matthew Harris, of Bute Co., NC, sons of Robert Harris sold 270 acres on 12 Nov. 1767. Mary, wife of Matthew released dower. c) Although Matthew Harris married a Mary House on 22 day, 2 mo., 1755, the combination of a) and b) and using the given names Christianna and Morris would suggest Matthew secondly married Mary Morris. 11. Southampton Co., VA deeds 5:256-257, FHL microfilm 34006. 12. Isle of Wight Co., VA personal property tax lists, list 1804A, p. 551, FHL Microfilm 2024590. Conyers Morris listed. 13. See evidence on Wright page under #1, #2, and #3. 14. William Tavernor will, York Co., VA Wills and Inventories No. 20, 1746-1759, Written 25 Aug. 1744; proved 20 May 1751, pp. 222-223, FHL Microfilm 34411. His bequests included to niece Ann Morris, wife to William Morris, niece Mary Harris wife to Anthony House, kinsman William Morris son of Wm. Morris, niece Hannah Tavernor, and Mary Pond, wife of Daniel Pond. Witnesses Thos. Roberts, Richard Pond, Ann Roberts. Ann Morris is probably the Ann, daughter of Giles Tavernor born 15. Isle of Wight, VA Chancery Court Case, 1806-056, James Fletcher vs. Hezekiak Morris and John Urquhart. Image 5 of 7 states that there was a judgement against James Fletcher by Hezekiah Morris, administrator of Conniers Morris.
