The February 1848 court ordered a division of Negroes in the estate of
Gassaway GAITHER.  The division took place on 3 Apr. 1848 by commissioners
C. HARBIN, T. CHESHIRE, and (T.C?) REYNOLDS.  The total value of Negroes
was placed at $4501, with each heir to receive a value of $643.
Lot #1 Matilda ROSEBROUGH get Jack valued at $650 and to pay lot #6, $7
Lot #2 Elvera AUSTIN gets Harry valued at $650 and to pay lot #6, $7
Lot #3 Mary GAITHER, widow, gets Caroline valued at $550, Viney and child
       valued at $51, and to receive from lot #7, $32, and from lot #5,
       $7, and from lot #4, $3
Lot #4 Ellen GIBBS gets Alex valued at $550 and Ben valued at $100 and
       to pay lot #3, $3, and lot #6, $4
Lot #5 Ephraim GAITHER gets Sunn valued at $525, Peter valued at $100,
       and Dice valued at $25 and to pay lot #3, $7
Lot #6 Mary F. and Alice MARCH get Pleasant valued at $400 and Caroline
       valued at $225 and to receive from lot #4, $4, and lot #2, $7,
       and lot #1, $7
Lot #7 Burgess GAITHER gets Reuben valued at $525 and Burton valued at
       $150 and to pay lot #3, $32.
