In the name of God Amen I Margaret Bay, wife of Hugh Bay deceast, of the
Destrict of St. Andre uper Louisiana, Being perfectly sound in my reason
and mind, though weak in body, and not knowing how soon it may please the
Almighty to call me to Eternity, I do by these presents make this my last
will and testament, in the following manner, to wit, first I will that after
I am dead, all my Byrying or funeral expences be paid, secondly that all
my just debts shall be paid and the whole of my remaining property shall
be disposed of in the following manner, to wit, I leave and bequeath to
my dear and beloved sons Robert Bay Samuel Bay Joseph Bay and my daughter
Margaret Bay which Daughter is now in the State of Kentucky, the whole of
my property to be equally divided between them, which property is the half
of the property of Hugh Bay deceast, I leave and bequeath to them and their
heirs for ever, and I desire my body to be commited to the Earth from whence
it came and recommend my soul to the god who gave it, and finally I leave
this my last will to be managed and executed by my beloved son Robert Bay,
and my trusty friend Richard Caulk in the presence of whom I acknowledge
and declare this to be my last will and testament as above mentioned
which i accept and sign in the presence of witnesses present this twenty
second Day of februry one thousand eight Hundred and three
