POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Posted November 1, 1998 Director, Learning Resources Center, Central Florida Community College, Ocala, FL (Reposting) Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in Library Science or a related field from an accredited college or university. Five to nine years of experience in education, distance learning, supervision, computers and library science, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Community college experience preferred. Special Skills or Abilities: Working knowledge of auotmated learning resources systems. Experience in leading and implementing distance learning courses/programs. Ability to direct the operation of a center and to establish good working relationships with the faculty, staff, and public. High level of communication and human relations skills that support a collaborative learning environment. Experience in evaluating the effectiveness of programs, policies, procedures, resources and equipment that are included in this position. Description of Duties: Plan for, administer, advance and evaluate the policies, procedures and operations of the Library (Learning Resources Center), Media Center, and Distance Learning. Provide leadership, direction and support for Learning Resources personnel. Collaborate with faculty and staff in providing services, in a learning centered environment, to the students and communities of Marion, Citrus, and Levy counties. Screening begins December 7, 1998.
