Musical experience
Radio
Worked at WHRB,
95.3 FM Cambridge, Massachusetts in the classical music
department from September 1985-May 1989.
- Producer and announcer of Sunday Night at the Opera, a
weekly four-hour program of opera and related vocal
recordings, for two years.
- Producer of two season highlight festivals, the (nearly)
complete broadcasts of the music of Giuseppe Verdi and
Peter Ilyich Tschaikovsky.
- Producer of the Borodin Festival and a 13-part special on
Slavic Dances.
- Regular programmer and announcer for daily classical
broadcasts.
Orchestral
Play viola and piano. (Always interested in chamber music!)
- Principal violist, Centre Symphony Orchestra, New York
City, September 1991-May 1994.
- Regular player for many other orchestral groups,
including the Mozart Symphony Orchestra (Cambridge, MA)
the Harvard-Radcliffe Gilbert and Sullivan Players, and
the Nittany
Valley Symphony Orchestra (State College, PA).
- Treasurer, Mozart Society Orchestra, two years.
Film
- Organizer and violist for string quartet featured in Let
It All Hang Out. Recording made June 1995.
