Tumbleweeds: Point of view

Description

Limpid Lizard and another brave are standing behind a rock. Limpid is holding a book, prompting the brave to ask, "Limpid Lizard, what's with the book?! We're supposed to be on lookout duty!

Limpid, glasses in hand, replies, "I gits board doon lookout dooty, so I'm gonna reed t' reprove m' mind!"

He then starts to read, while the other brave stands watch.

Limpid soon runs into technical difficulties, and doesn't hesitate to ask, "Whut's this hear first werd?"

"tops" - that is, "spot" inverted

"Huh?"

The problem is obvious, as is the solution. And indeed, Limpid Lizard does the only thing he can do in this situation. He walks back to the Poohawk Public Library tepee, and complains, "I gotta lemon"

Comments

Well, Limpid Lizard would definitely never have made it as a children's librarian. All of the librarians from my childhood seemed to have the ability to read upside down, which came in very handy during story hour!
