Calvin and Hobbes: Encyclopedia

Description

Calvin walks up to his mother, who is reading the newspaper, and asks, "Mom, Can I have the car keys?"

"No."

Calvin seems stumped for the moment, then gets an idea, and races off to implement it.

He returns to his mother with an open book, and asks, "Can you believe the encyclopedia doesn't have an entry for "hotwire"?"

That was one thing I noticed when doing my internship at the reference desk - many people seemed to think that the answers to their questions would be in the encyclopedia. Once I realized this, a lot of the questions became easier to deal with: "That's a little too current to be in this encyclopedia. Why don't we check the guides to periodical literature?"
