Here is my rough itinerary, as of August 2000. These plans are, of course, subject to change on a moments notice.

AUGUST 25 Leave Los Angeles. Head for the Burning Man festival in northern Nevada for a week, then to the San Francisco bay area to visit friends and attend the Fringe Festival for about another week. SEPTEMBER 11 Drive to Massachusetts, via Boulder, Colorado; Topeka, Kansas; Lawler, Iowa; Chicago; Toronto; and New York. SEPTEMBER 28 Visit family and friends in New England. OCTOBER 23 Drive to San Antonio via Wilmington, North Carolina. OCTOBER 30 Bus to Nueva Loredo, Mexico; begin travelling. NOVEMBER Meander through Mexico, stopping in Monterrey, Toreon, Durango, Mazatlan, Guadalajara, Michoacan, Mexico City, Oaxaca, and the Yucatan. DECEMBER Get scuba certified in Belize. See Mayan ruins in Honduras and Guatemala. Continue south by land and cross the Panama Canal. JANUARY 2001 Colombia? and Venezuela. FEBRUARY Ecuador. MARCH Peru and Bolivia APRIL Chile. MAY Argentina. JUNE Choose a country and move there.
