The visual arts classes are designed to allow students to explore a variety of art mediums and subjects under the supervision of an experienced art instructor. The class is one component of a four-class 6th grade exploratory wheel that also includes drama and music.

Students work independently on projects that are chosen from the following:

· Oils of the Impressionists (oil pastels)

· Fruits of Paul Klee (art pencil and felt pens)

· Faces of Pablo Picasso (art pencils and felt pens)

B. OTHER MEDIUMS -flat and multidimensional art

· Half and Half pictures (water color pencils)

· Partner portraits (charcoal or chalk)

· 3-D first names (cut and molded tagboard)

· Sunset windows (crayons)

· 2-way comic art (construction paper)

· String pull (tempera and chalk)
