| MATHEMATICS: ROOM 39 - DREAMHOUSES |
|
CLASSROOM BASED MATHEMATICS PROJECTS: BUILD YOUR OWN DREAM HOUSE Did you ever wish you could design a house in which you would love to live? This project gives the students in rooms 36 and 39 a chance to do this that. Each child is given the opportunity to imagine the house they would dream of living in, and then design it and build a 3-D model of the structure.
Design concepts: Spatial relationships, practical use of
space and arrangement of components, following a set of building codes,
neatness of work, use of rough drafts, expansion of scales, and use of
equipment such as drawing boards, 'fadeout' velum, T-squares, 45o triangles,
and architectural templates. |
