REPORT from CHURCH ELDER by PHONE

Pastor "Chick" called the West Palm Beach church on May 20, 1999. The facts gleaned by talking to one of the church elders were as follows:

  1. When the General Conference attorneys appeared before the court for the initial hearing, they tried to persuade the judge to "force" Pastor Perez to sign an agreement which would basically satisfy all of the desires of the General Conference. Pastor Perez refused to sign such a document.
  2. The judge decided to have both parties in the lawsuit take six months to prepare their legal arguments. Sometime in August or September of 1999 the court will hear both sides in this case.
  3. Thirty days following the hearing, the judge is to give his verdict.

Any of you who belong to the SDA Church or a non-conference SDA congregation are encouraged to write letters of protest either to the General Conference President (with a copy to Pastor Perez) or send a letter of support to Pastor Perez, indicating the name and address of your congregation. Thank you for your assistance.

The elder reported that twenty eight SDA ministers were to be meeting at the West Palm Beach church on Sabbath, May 22nd for prayer and an outpouring of God's Holy Spirit.

Pastor "Chick" assured the church elder that all faithful Creation 7th Day Adventists are in "prayer without ceasing" for our brethren there in Florida. Our Internet protest against this evil persecution continues in their behalf, and we still covet all the prayers of our site visitors in this solemn time of judgment.
