The Chuck Cowdery Blog
A note about links.
For a variety of reasons, I have chosen to keep this blog "old school," just a string of posts, without ads, without a way for people to add their own comments, and without any of the other sophisticated features that characterize many other blogs today. The purpose of this note, however, is to let anyone who might want to link to a particular entry know that there is an easy way to do so, assuming you write your own HTML.
Every entry in my blog begins with an HTML "name" tag. The format is simply the numerical form of that day's date, so for example the name tag for the entry posted on February 14, 2006 is "2-14-06," so the HTML bookmark "#2-14-06" following the page URL (cowdery.home.netcom.com/blog2006.html) will link right to that entry. Obviously, if you want to link to something I wrote, just linking to the page doesn't do you much good, so this makes it easy to link directly to a particular post. Try it!
I hope this is helpful.
I used the name tags irregularly in 2005, but they are on every post beginning in 2006 and going forward from there.
As for a "comments" section, I certainly welcome feedback and will post anything I think advances the discussion, whether I agree with it or not. Do you think people who have direct posting mechanisms on their blogs don't monitor and edit them? Of course they do. You can email me at cowdery@ix.netcom.com.
Now On Blogger. As of August 18, 2007, I'm trying out Blogger, My intention is to post in both places going forward and see how it works out. This will make it easier for anyone who wants to link to my posts or comment on them.To go to the Chuck Cowdery Blog on Blogger, click here.
