ACCURACY
After discussion it was generally agreed that very minute accuracy increments are not significant to the scout concept. The scout rifle is for use against ample targets at reasonable ranges, and accuracy which the shooter cannot appreciate from a field position is of only academic interest. A very accurate rifle is a pleasure to use and it inspires confidence in its shooter, but it is also usually expensive. If a scout rifle turns out to be a "tack driver", that may be considered a spinoff rather than a necessity. Consistent, ten-shot, six-inch groups, at a range of 300 meters, is a goal to be pursued but not often obtained.
