    The Caver Kit

    Class Prerequisites:
    None

    Duration:
    1 Hour

    Equipment Needed:
Cave Pack, with standard caving gear.

    Description:
This class teaches cavers how to modify their caving packs so the contents can be used for self rescue situations. They will learn how to evaluate each item, and learn how to modify it for rescue. As an example, water bottles and battery boxes can be used as splints, duct tape can be used as a sling, and knee pads can be used to cushion an injury. Students will also be given suggestions on small and light items they can add to their cave packs to assist in self rescue. The caver will also receive hints on how to be innovative with gear for rescue situations.
