applied for funeral costs and was listed at same address where Bailey died - 3015 Charles St.

record as 5' 7" and 184 pounds light complexioned, with blue eyes and brown hair. He had been
pensioned at $25. a month and on 10-28-1916 it was increased to $72. Several letters are
written by Bailey requesting this increase. Cards are also enclosed with the names of
Adolph and Gustavus A. McKenzie. There was no information on these cards.

C-3 Henry J. McKinzie, born 10-30-1846, died 1933, married late
in life. He was living with his father when he applied
for a pension 9-15-1886. He enlisted at Terre Haute, IN and served as Pvt in Co E, 97th
Ind Inf. He was hospitalized in Huntsville, AL during the Civil War. He made a statement
1915 that he had been married, but divorced 2 or 3 yrs ago. He was 5' 4", 138 pounds,
dark with brown eyes, in a report dated 1925. He stated he had no children.

record, book K, page 170. Sarah told a grandson that her name was spelled "McKinzie." Her daughter,
Mayme Jones gave the information for Sarah's death certificate. She reported Sarah's father was born in Scotland, whereas Gustavus never stated that. He said Louisiana and Florida. There is always the chance that he did not supply the information for the census taker, but someone else for him. Her brother, Henry, once reported their father was born in Alabama.
