All of the pictures on this page were taken with an inexpensive (under $400.00) 8mm SharpViewcam. They were digitized with Aitech's Aigotcha video grabber. The pictures were edited and converted to JPEG with a combination of Aigotcha capturing/editing software, LViewPro , EasyPhoto , and Adobe PhotoShop(TM). At NETCOMpersonal web space for all pages is limited to 1 megabyte so JPEG format is ideal.

There are several advantages of using a video camera versus scanning photographs or choosing a digital camera. Many pictures are captured within a short time. An 8mm tape holds approximately 120 minutes of video (hundreds or thousands of still pictures). Tapes are very inexpensive (approximately $3.50 each). Pictures can be uploaded to a website within hours after they are taken. Quality varies depending more on photographic and editing skills than on the excellent hardware now available.
