The Prt Em Hru is the most sacred personal practice of Muat shared between the Goddess and her high priest. The purpose of engaging in the Prt Em Hru is for the facilitation of an increased intimacy, self-mastery, and greater awareness. As “Prt Em Hru” means “Coming Forth By Day”, it is a means by which a person may come into greater awareness of both herself and the world around her. This is achieved through a combination of controlled sexual interaction with meditative breath control and the obtaining of the conscious state of Aaru.
Through the muat-netjemit (controlled sexual interaction), a person learns to delay orgasm in order to create a deep and prolonged state of sexual ecstacy for intensifying the experience of Aaru. Aaru is achieved upon entering into the conscious state of lucid dreaming in which one is consciously aware of one’s dreaming. Once in this state of awareness, a person may strive to utilize this conscious connection to the subconscious to excersize control of the dream world, engage in introspection, deduce solutions to problems, or strive to be psychically receptive to desired information. A person may even stirive to take the experience of meditation a step further by striving to obtain a oness with MAET in Aaru and therefore achieve a state of consciousness similar to that of nirvana.
