What Is Aerobic Dancing?

Aerobic Dancing combines the health and figure benefits of jogging with the fun and vigor of dancing.  It's a series of easy-to-learn dances for non-dancers, a carefully choreographed blend of jogging, lunges, arm swings, and leg kicks, set to music from contemporary to country.  Every class is a new adventure!

In order to sustain motivation and challenge, Jacki continually choreographs new dances to different music.  Each session has a new name, new theme, and entirely new dances.

Benefits

In addition to having fun and feeling like Shirley MacLaine, Aerobic Dancing combines all the essentials of a complete physical fitness program.  It:

Why work at exercising only one group of muscles at a time when you can dance vigorously, move the entire body at once and have fun doing it?   It's time to stop thinking of exercise as hard work and a bore--it's time to make it fun!

Classes

Classes meet two or three times a week for a 60-minute continuous workout guaranteed to move every muscle in the body.  Each class begins with a warmup routine, flexibility stretches, floorwork (to strengthen the abdominal muscles), and Vertifirm™ (vertical firmness), followed by a booster (to gradually accelerate the heart rate) and six to ten aerobic dances.  Hand weights and ankle weights may be used if desired during Vertifirm™ for further toning and strengthening.  We take heart rates after each aerobic routine to ensure that you are working at a safe level and receive a training effect without straining your heart.  The class ends with a choreographed cooldown dance to gradually slow the activity level and heart rate.  Every 12-week session contains entirely new and different material.

Individual Pace

Aerobic Dancing is non-competitive.  Skill and technique aren't important.  Having fun is.  You can choose to walk, jog, or run through the dances depending on individual levels of fitness.

As the weeks pass, it becomes progressively easier to finish the dances.  Soon you'll be able to "jog" the dances (add a little bounce) and "walk" steps only when you need to catch your breath.  Gradually, you'll find you're dancing many sequences at the "running" level, slowing down only when you need to catch your breath.

Physical fitness is a lifelong pursuit.  Unlike body fat, physical fitness can't be stored but must be renewed regularly.

Aerobic Dancing whispers exercise...shouts fun!
